I was surprised to find that there was a Swine Flu scare and vaccination program before, namely in 1976. See this revealing report on 60 minutes about the scare and vaccine program at the time:

Is it not just heart warming to see the Government propaganda for the swine flu shot, showing people happily getting swine flu vaccines and being healthy, while everyone else is coming down with the flu? And "Dotty even died from it, because she had a heart condition"!
It would all be a bit funny if today's campaign was not so similar. A disease which is far from threatening is being used for a campaign that tries to scare everyone into doing what the Government wants. But it is not really the Government behind it all, because this is nothing more than a giant marketing campaign which yields about 20 billion dollars for the pharmaceutical industry. Rather ingenious, not all that hard to see through, and the bluff has been called by accomplished names, but their call is not heard in the general background noise.

With a bit of research, you will find a host of such comments from everyone except -- the Government and the pharmaceutical pill pushers, of course. They tell you that it is a wonderful idea to get vaccinated.
